Disability support service expands

A LONGSTANDING Toowoomba disability service has grown so much, it's had to buy more space.

Quality Lifestyle Support, which has operated at 108 Mort St in Toowoomba since 2006, has bought a neighbouring block of land to expand its services.

It comes as the company also upgrades and renovates its Toowoomba office, which should be finished by December.

Along with offering a range of respite and support services, QLS also launched the Another Life Coffee and Wares shop next door to its headquarters in 2018 to employ and upskill people with disabilities for the hospitality sector.

Recently-appointed CEO Geoff Betros said the vacant block of land at 104 Mort St was required given the organisation's growth.

"We just need some extra space," he said.

"Our client base is growing and the NDIS is making disability support more available than ever before."

Director Robyn Cavanagh said she was excited at the possibilities thanks to the newly-acquired space.

"We haven't fully decided what we want to do for the block - it depends on what the council will allow," she said.

"I would like to introduce a drive-through service for the cafe, which would come out onto Bellevue St.

"I would also like to add another respite house, but have it kitted out so it can be used as a learning centre as well."

The block was sold by Leon Carlile from Queensland Hot Property.
