A popular Toowoomba tattoo parlour has announced it will close up shop, following the recent death of its beloved co-founder.
Top of the Range Tattoo Studio on Ruthven Street revealed this week it would cease trading on Friday, June 18, after more than 31 years in operation.
The news comes just a month after owner John Poole died suddenly.
“The overwhelming decision to permanently close has been made with deep respect to the recent passing of (Mr Poole),” Mr Poole’s wife Kerryn wrote on social media.
“John pursued his dream of opening his own tattoo business in 1989 with passion, energy and hard work and established the longest-serving tattoo studio in the Darling Downs.
“He was so very proud of this achievement with much appreciation to be acknowledged to the numerous talented artists who he employed over the years.
“John was larger than life itself and even larger in death — his absence has left a void within the studio that no one can or will ever fill.”
Mrs Poole thanked its thousands of clients and customers over the years for their support and loyalty.
“Without your valued patronage, this chapter of the history book would never have been written,” she said.
