Cocktail lovers will be rejoicing with the opening of a funky new business operating in southeast Queensland and serving everything from spicy margaritas and cosmopolitans to espresso martinis.
Jack Lee, 23 and Dylan Edwards, 25 knew of each other working in the hospitality industry, but their friendship only began in 2021 after they crossed paths on a night out on the town.
They already live and train together but now the best mates also work together with the pair set to launch their new business The Barmen on Saturday.
Offering a mobile bar and bartending services, the duo said their vision was to one day turn it into a full-time gig, franchise the business across Queensland and revolutionise the industry.
“I’ve always said ‘people with substance recognise other people with substance’ so I saw Dylan was real and genuine straight away,” Mr Lee said.
“Funnily enough before we met we both had the idea of starting this business – we’re passionate about the industry and it really reflects our personalities.
“We’re both energetic, fun and hardworking blokes who want to break out of the typical nine to five, give it a go and create a memorable night for our clients.”
The two expert mixologists have years of industry experience with Dylan hailing from a pub in Gatton and The Cube Hotel, while former George Banks venue manager Jack perfected the craft of bartending at the Sofitel Resort in Noosa.
Available for corporate events, birthdays, hen’s nights and weddings, the duo will offer customised packages to suit all and every occasion.
In addition to whipping up refreshing cocktails, the pair will even serve them topless on request.
“We’re both confident guys in good shape so the only nerve-racking thing about that is what our girlfriends say,” Mr Lee said.
“But we have just made a joke out of it and told them we will use the money we make out of it to buy them Louis Vuitton bags.”
Describing the service as professional, fun and the ultimate bar experience, the two lads said they would deliver “electricity, flair and spice”.
