What a month it is in Toowoomba for the chamber – Small Business Month.
The month commenced with a series of eight workshops covering four topics – strategy planning, digital marketing, human resources and cash flow.
These topics were highlighted as wanted topics during our own survey of small businesses during the 3rd quarter of 2020.
Topics also highlighted areas of where small businesses would like government support at the recent small business roadshow around Queensland.
In addition to the workshop series, this week we will be delivering a trade show, the Small Business Exchange 2021, which is to assist businesses with networking, brand exposure and seeking new business along with an opportunity for jobseekers to explore potential new employers.
The Small Business Exchange – known as SBX – affords small business owners with the opportunity to showcase their services, equipment, and products to the public this Wednesday at the Goods Shed.
Co-ordinated and hosted by the Toowoomba Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Optus, the Department of Employment Small Business and Training and valued sponsors Clifford Gouldson and Robertson Scannell, the trade show will provide a platform for small business owners to meet potential customers and employees face-to-face.
In the past this has been a hotbed for businesses for those who participate in the exchange with financial gain through sales leads, increased customer database and face-to-face meetings with target markets.
We have seen businesses like Darling Fresh and Fuji Xerox launch new brands and products into the market with great success, all thanks to the SBX.
The SBX provides a great opportunity for businesses to on show and engage with the customers as well as meeting like-minded personnel.
Following the SBX, we will be hosting a celebration of Small Business Month during our own Business at Dusk networking evening on Thursday, hosted by our new platinum sponsor 94.9FM.
We encourage you to get down to the Goods Shed and come along to the Business at Dusk event on Thursday evening.
