Sims White Architects and Feather and Lawry Design have been commended for their work at the Australian Institute of Architects Darling Downs and West Moreton Regional Architecture Awards last night.
Sims White Architects received a regional commendation for commercial architecture for their work on 111 Campbell Street in East Toowoomba, while Feather and Lawry Design received a regional commendation for their interior architecture work on the new Ray White Toowoomba office.
Judges found 111 Campbell Street to inspire “further growth of the emerging mixed-use neighbourhood”.
“It’s carefully executed simplicity finds a satisfying blend between the vernacular residential character and the local industrial typology.”
On Feather and Lawry’s work at the Ray White office, judges said their work “is … impressive for its approach in converting multiple disparate tenancies into a contiguous and coherent collective.”
The projects have been short-listed for the AIA Queensland Architecture Awards, which will be awarded in June.
