Coming as a surprise to many, the Iplay arcade opened to customers at 9pm last Friday night.

Speaking on its first official day of business last Saturday, manager Tory Prendergast said the smiling faces coming through the door had made weeks on planning worth it.

"It is basically the place to come to have fun," she said.

"It's open to all ages including families but we have had a lot of teenagers and adults come as well. 

"There is something that everyone will enjoy."

Ms Prendergast said the arcade will soon open a Baskin Robbins at the site.
