The RACQ store in Grand Central will be closed permanently from October 29 with the store to be relocated to another shopping centre.
In a letter to members sent on August 30, RACQ confirmed its Grand Central store would be relocated to operate from its Clifford Gardens store from 9am on Saturday, October 30.
“We’re happy to inform you that the RACQ store at Clifford Gardens Shopping Centre will offer you the RACQ services you know and trust, including bank, membership, assistance, insurance and travel products and services in the one location,” the letter states.
RACQ spokeswoman Renee Smith confirmed the store’s closure but said there would be no job losses associated with the move.
“In fact, the Clifford Gardens store will be bolstered by increased phone and digital services to better meet the needs of Toowoomba members,” Ms Smith said.
“The decision to relocate from Grand Central was made due to the very low customer traffic
at this store when compared to our Clifford Gardens store.
“Our members have long expressed their preference for the Clifford Gardens store with great parking and now a full suite of RACQ services available, including cash banking.”
Ms Smith said RACQ had also invested in Warwick store to provide full bank services at a new store at Rose City Shoppingworld from Tuesday, October 5.
