Master Builders Darling Downs winners for 2024 revealed
It has been a hard year for the Darling Downs construction sector but that did not stop our companies from building some truly impressive homes, businesses and government facilities. See the winner’s list here.

Hutchinson Builders have swept the 2024 Master Builders awards, taking out six titles in the Downs and Western categories.
The construction company won awards for Women in Building, Health Facilities up to $20m, Health Facilities over $20 million, Community Service Facilities and Retail Facilities more than $5m.
Held at the Rumours International Convention Centre on Friday, the awards celebrated commercial and residential builders from across the Darling Downs and Southwest Queensland.
Master Builders regional manager Linda Rosengreen said it was great celebrate at the end of challenging year for the industry.
“Huge increases in construction costs, the ongoing labour shortage, red tape and regulatory changes are making things tough in building and construction right now, especially as we work to help tackle the housing crisis,” she said in a press release.
“But our industry is known for its resilience and Master Builders are renowned for delivering excellence, no matter the circumstances.
“Our 2024 winning projects and individuals are proof of that.”
Windamere Homes won the House of the Year title for Penny Home.
The judges said the five-bed home was built with exceptional skill and attention to detail, designed with both luxury living and sustainability in mind.
It feature flooring timber recycled from ex-railway bridge Blackbutt, the Low E glass, timeless stone features and soaring raked ceiling.
Lavish Constructions won the Presidents’ Award for AUM HOM. a stylish Rangeville home designed along Indian Vaastu principles.
“From the wavy walls and custom door frames to the fabulous pool and the glass walkover pond at the front entry, this home epitomises quality craftsmanship,” the judges said.
FKG took won the Group Project of the Year Award for Toowoomba Toyota Pre-Delivery and Service Centre.
“FKG’s innovative waterproofing system achieved flawless results, while consistent quality audits performed on site, and the team’s professionalism and strong commitment to safety and quality, resulted in a high-quality project delivered on time and budget,” the judges said.
