Laura’s excited about her new position

CANADIAN Laura Hicks thoroughly enjoys working with the people at Grand Central in her role as administration officer.

Ms Hicks has been in the role for about two months after securing the job through Classic Recruitment, located in Margaret St.

"I am originally from Canada but I live in Toowoomba now," Ms Hicks said.

"I met my partner overseas and he convinced me to move here.

"I have been living in Toowoomba now for about two years," she said.

Ms Hicks said her role was essentially about looking after the centre's finances.

"I really enjoy working with the people at the centre," she said.

"I have learnt a lot so far in my role.

"It certainly has been a big learning curve for me."

Ms Hicks said she enjoyed her role as it had allowed her to gain more experience.

"My job deals with the financial side of things," she said.

"I have recently found out that I was pregnant and the centre has been extremely supportive.

"I would like to continue working with them in the future."
