Tickets are now on sale for the December 12 black tie event at the Empire Theatre, which has been organised by the Toowoomba Chamber of Commerce.
Businesses only had to complete a short written application, be in a video and face a visit from the judges to qualify for the awards.
Chamber CEO Todd Rohl said there were now multiple entrants into every category, which was a big achievement considering the difficult circumstances facing small businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We’ve got multiple applicants for all categories and there are well over 100 applicants — we’re nearly at about the same number as previous years,” he said.
“The finalists will be announced in late November and judges’ visits are under way.
“December 12 is the night and we’re currently negotiating with a series of after-party venues.
“We’ve very happy with the amount of applicants so far, so it’s all systems go.”
Mr Rohl said he had been impressed with the resilience of many businesses during the past nine months.
Tickets for the event are available at the Toowoomba Tickets website.
