Millions are struggling with the cost of living, especially when it comes to housing. But it’s time to reveal how Aussies are really coping.

Grocery prices are rising, home ownership is getting further out of reach, and activities like the occasional meal at the local pub that were once part of an average Aussie lifestyle have become unaffordable luxuries.

None of these changes is news to millions of Aussies in the grip of a cost-of-living crisis.

But as we’ve all noticed our costs - and in many cases debts - going up and savings dwindling, the details of what we do with our money usually remain off-limits when it comes to what we share with our mates.

We’re all struggling, and many of us are making changes in order to get by. And that’s why we want to hear from you.

News.com.au is launching a survey giving Australians the opportunity to share how they - and find out how others - are really coping with financial pressures.

We want to know if you think you’ll ever be able to own your own home, if you already do, or if you’ve given up.

Have you had to tighten your household budget with everything getting more expensive? And if so, do you always stick to it?

We’re interested in what is the biggest drain on your finances, and what you’ve found yourself having to cut back on.

And let’s face it, we’re all interested in what other people are doing with their money.

That’s why news.com.au will be sharing these survey results in articles revealing how Aussies are really getting by and the changing attitudes towards the fading Australian dream of cracking the property market.

It comes as a recent survey of 4000 Aussies found that 89 per cent of Aussies are concerned about the rising cost of living, with food, energy, health and rent the highest overall concerns. Of all the financial pressures worrying Australians, rent and mortgage were the most frequently cites top concerns.
