Special Report: Perpetual Resources has contracted ServDrill Brazil to carry out maiden lithium drilling at its Igrejinha project in the Lithium Valley region of mining friendly Minas Gerais state.

ServDrill, which recently conducted successful drilling programs for Sigma Lithium and Lithium Ionic, is expected to start the 1500m reverse circulation drill program to test known outcropping spodumene-bearing pegmatites at the project in early June 2025.

Engaging the contractor comes on the heels of Perpetual Resources (ASX:PEC) raising $500,000 through a placement of shares priced at 1.3c to professional and sophisticated investors in order to fund the drill program.

“We are pleased to have secured an experienced drilling partner for our maiden lithium-focused campaign in Brazil’s renowned Lithium Valley,” exploration manager Allan Stephens said.

“Igrejinha continues to display strong geological fundamentals, with confirmed high-grade mineralisation, scale potential, and proximity to some of South America’s largest spodumene deposits and lowest cost spodumene production in the world.

“Drilling will target surface-exposed mineralisation along a 1.4km NE-SW pegmatite corridor, and we look forward to providing further updates as the program advances.”

Igrejinha project

Igrejinha is less than 10km from and in the same geological setting as globally significant lithium projects such as Sigma Lithium’s low-cost Grota Do Cirilo complex.

Recent mapping and sampling of an outcropping >15m wide, northeast-southwest trending pegmatite that strikes for over 1.4km had returned exceptional rock chip and channel samples such as:

  • 7.6% Li2O in rock chip 2
  • 7.5% Li2O in rock chip 4; and
  • A 1m channel sample assay at 3.26% Li2O.

To date, PEC has identified 10 aggregated target areas as being the likely prospects for drilling.

Several drill locations have been strategically selected to target high-potential zones near known spodumene occurrences, with additional step-out targets being developed through a comprehensive soil and auger program covering the 1.4km Target 1 corridor.

Subsequent assay data from the multispectral and LiDAR survey will further refine regional-scale, along-strike models, particularly in areas where weathering has obscured outcrops or structural indicators.

Results from an additional 240 soil and auger samples, collected in March 2025, are expected within about two weeks and are expected to provide key insights into subsurface mineralisation trends and further tangibility to proximal mineralised outcrops.

The company’s in-country technical team is currently in the final stages of a comprehensive soil sampling and auger drilling program to further refine and extend drill targets along strike.
