THE owner of a new video gaming bar in the Toowoomba CBD has pushed back its official opening date.
Spacies Diner, located in the old Skewers restaurant on Club Lane off Margaret St, was due to open its doors this weekend.
But owner John McNeill said the venue was still waiting on its food licence from the Toowoomba Regional Council and needed to postpone the launch for at least a week.
"We're just waiting on our food licence from the council to come back - hopefully the next weekend we'll be right," he said.
Mr McNeill put the new opening date tentatively at September 18-19 when he let fans know about the delay.
"We are working really hard to get everything ready, and we are really close - but are just waiting on a few things before we can open the doors which are beyond our control," he wrote.
"We are now hoping for either the 18th or 19th - but will definitely let everyone know when we have everything in place and are ready to see you.
"Thank you so much to everyone so far for the support and love you've shown us."
The venue will initially house 10 arcade machines and 15 pinball machines, with the focus on retro gaming from the 1980s and 1990s.
