KFC launches new store in Highfields, north of Toowoomba, creating dozens of new jobs

Fast food giant KFC has launched its newest store in the Toowoomba region, with the location creating more than 70 jobs for residents.

KFC Australia and franchise owner Collins Foods opened its newest location on the New England Highway at Highfields at 10am today.

The building, which includes a drive-through and digital menu boards, has been under construction since the middle of the year.

However, the store won’t be open 24 hours a day as was previously reported, operating seven days a week from 10am until 10pm.

Highfields general manager Amber Harding-Dolan, who has five years’ experience in the business, said she was excited to welcome customers from today.

“For a population of 8131, Highfields now adds 12 secret herbs and spices to the community,” she said.

“Our new, highly energetic team will be welcoming locals with a craving for quality Kentucky Fried Chicken to our doors from today.

“Collins Foods and KFC provide all team members with the coaching and training needed to deliver a great customer experience while making the workplace a fun and welcoming environment for all.

“With the skills I have learnt working my way up the ladder at KFC, I am excited to give the new team the coaching they need to deliver exceptional customer experience, but also to help them grow personally and become more confident.”
