The final days before the collapse of luxury caravan maker Zone RV have been revealed, outlining a timeline of events that has left customers and staff in limbo.

Two companies behind Zone RV – Zone Manufacturing and Zone RV Holdings – entered administration on Monday morning, leaving behind a flurry of customers with outstanding deposits and 250 employees facing an uncertain future.

New documents lodged with ASIC reveal Zone RV’s corporate advisor, Phillip Spry of Mawson Group, first reached out to Cor Cordis on November 19 to explore the possibility of appointing insolvency practitioners to the companies.

Cor Cordis staff then met with the director of Zone RV, David Biggar, “a number” of times between November 19 to 30.

Yet customers allege the company was still urging them to “progress payments” and was actively taking orders in the days leading up to the appointment of administrators on December 1.

“(Cor Cordis staff) attended a number of meetings with the sole director of the companies and (Mr Spry) during the period 19 November 2025 to 30 November 2025,” the document submitted by Cor Cordis read.

They said Zone RV’s management attended meetings from November 27 to 30.

“The purpose of these meetings was to obtain sufficient information about the companies and their financial position to discuss the solvency of the companies (and) explain the options available to the companies and the nature and consequences of an insolvency appointment,” it read.

The Cor Cordis employees said they also used the meetings to assess any conflicts of interest that would arise from their possible appointment.

“No remuneration was received for the above matters,” the document read.

ANZ is listed as a lender and secured creditor, the filings also reveal, with the banking giant able to enforce its claims over the companies’ assets.

One buyer alleged Zone RV took a deposit just hours before the news broke on Monday. He says he is now out of pocket $190,000.

“I’m gutted, I’m angry, I’m p**sed off. It’s wrong. If they knew they were in this bad a shape, they shouldn’t have taken the money,” customer Jason Humphreys told 7News.

Other customers have taken to social media alleging they had paid deposits as recent as last week.

“We are expected to take delivery of our new Zone caravan and have lost $85,000 of our life’s savings. We are just a hard working couple,” one customer wrote online.

A statement from administrators Rahul Goyal, Catherine Margaret Conneely and Stephen Earel from earlier this week said the Coolum-based business would continue to trade “in a substantially reduced capacity”.

“The administrators are conducting an urgent review of Zone RV’s financial and operational position,” they said.

“Their primary objective is to preserve value for all stakeholders, including approximately 250 employees, customers, and suppliers, and to determine the strategic options available for the business moving forward.”

Zone RV specialised in Australian-made, luxury off-road caravans “incorporating technology from the aeronautical and marine industries to ensure they can navigate even the toughest terrains”.

The business has four main models in its range – some priced upwards of $250,000 – and some online discussion groups said it had a 12-month waiting list for orders.

As recently as 2022 the business invested $7.5m in a new facility in the Coolum Eco Industrial Park.

Company documents list the current director as Mr Biggar, since 2015.
