One of the country’s biggest airlines has slashed domestic and international airfares as eager Aussies take to the skies again.

Virgin Australia has slashed domestic and international airfares as eager Aussies take to the skies again as they get back into travel after years of lockdowns.

As part of their Bring On 2023 sale, the airline has discounted half a million seats to some of the world’s most-in-demand destinations including Byron Bay, Bali and Fiji.

Prices, released on Monday, include $55 one way fares in both directions between Sydney and sun-drenched Byron Bay (Ballina).

Other hot deals include Sydney to the Sunshine Coast for $75, Sydney to Melbourne for $95 and the Gold Coast for $89.

Melburnians can enjoy a break to Hobart for just $89.

For those looking to venture abroad, a Fiji getaway from Sydney will cost just $459 return.

Passengers in need of a Bali fix can take advantage of $489 fares fro the Gold Coast .

Other discounted international fares include Melbourne-Vanuatu ($539) Brisbane-Samoa ($549) or Cairns-Tokyo ($699).

Virgin Australia Group Chief Commercial Officer, Dave Emerson, said the start of the year was a time for planning future travel.

“January is a month synonymous with planning for the year ahead – looking at opportunities for holidays, business trips, connecting with family and friends or exploring a new part of the country,” he said.

“We have so many great fares on offer no matter the reason for travel, and we encourage Australians to get in before they sell out.”

The sale ends at midnight on February 6 unless sold out prior.
