Qantas has launched a 24-hour sale on flights to help footy fans get to the footy on Grand Final weekend.

From 10am AEST on Tuesday, fans will be able to access Melbourne to Sydney and Sydney to Melbourne from $139 one-way, Brisbane to Melbourne from $175 one-way, Brisbane to Sydney from $139 one-way.

There are also tickets from Auckland to Sydney from NZD $249 one-way.

Fares have also been dropped in other states like Adelaide where fans can get $129 one-way tickets to Melbourne.

Tickets available will apply to those sold going to Sydney from September 28 until October 1 and out of Sydney between October 2-4.

They apply to tickets sold to Melbourne between September 28-30 and out of Melbourne between September 30 and October 4.

As part of the sale, Qantas is waiving the standard flight change fee on these fares for one flight change.

This enables fans to put the fare towards any other flight (route or time) over the next 12 months if their team doesn’t make the Grand Final. But a fare difference may apply.

“This sale means that they can lock in a great discounted fare this week, with the option to change their flight if their team doesn’t make it,” a Qantas spokesperson said.

“The fares are well below the regular fares on these routes, particularly during the busy school holiday period.”

AFL fans can still get tickets to see the Carlton v Brisbane Lions match at the Gabba on Saturday with economy one-way fares from Melbourne to Brisbane on Friday from $377 one-way (as of 8am AEST Tuesday).

The Qantas sale ends 10am (AEST) Wednesday, unless sold out prior.

Virgin Australia has also launched a sale to help get fans to the AFL Grand Final next weekend, with fares from as low as $119 one-way in economy.

One-way economy sale fares for travel between September 25 and October 5 include:

*Launceston to Melbourne from $119

*Adelaide to Melbourne from $129

*Hobart to Melbourne from $139

*Sydney to Melbourne from $139

*Brisbane to Melbourne from $159

*Perth to Melbourne from $329

Available sale fares are accurate as at 3pm AEST September 19 and are expected to sell out.
