Qantas has dropped a surprise one-week sale on fares to the airlines most popular international destinations.
Sale fares start from $499 with return flights available from Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane to Vanuatu or Noumea.
For those looking to travel further afield and enjoy a Euro summer, return sale fares are available to more than 35 routes including Sydney, Melbourne and Perth to London from $1749 and Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide to Johannesburg from $1699.
The sale also includes fares for the airline’s new Melbourne to Honolulu route, starting from $999 ahead of the inaugural flight which is set to take off on May 1.
Sale fares are available across economy and premium cabins, with Business return fares from Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane to Johannesburg starting from $6899 and Premium Economy return fares from Sydney and Melbourne to London from $3899.
All fares include checked baggage as well as complimentary food and beverages.
Fares are for travel during selected dates between 11 May, 2025 and 31 March, 2026, available until 11.59pm (AEST) 5 May, 2025 unless sold out prior.
The massive Qantas sale follows the news of Virgin Australia’s relaunching long-haul flights from June 2025 using wet-leased aircraft from Qatar Airways.
Virgin Australia’s new partnership with Qatar Airways will give consumers greater choice on Australian routes to European destinations such as London, Paris, and Rome.
Sydney, Brisbane and Perth will be the first cities to enter Virgin Australia’s new long-haul network connecting to Qatar Airways’ main hub of Doha, followed by Melbourne in December.
