$519 flights: Qantas, Virgin sale to overseas holiday hotspots

Airfare wars are ramping up again following a sales frenzy with major carriers Qantas and Virgin — which is great news for travellers and holiday-seekers.
Qantas has announced more than 90,000 seats from Australia to Asia have been slashed, with flights up for grabs from Perth to Singapore from $519 return.
It comes after the airline announced on Tuesday more than one million domestic seats were on sale, with prices starting from $109.
Aussies can fly economy from Sydney, Melbourne or Adelaide to Bali (Denpasar) from $679 return or Brisbane to Fiji (Manila) from $749 or Melbourne to Delhi from $949.
More premium airfares are also on sale, including Melbourne or Sydney to Manila from $3,799 for business class return.
The sale applies to a range of dates between January to September next year, including some in the school holidays. The sale runs until 11.59pm AEDT November 19, 2024, unless sold out prior.
Virgin Australia also has a sale on overseas airfares including economy return flights from Brisbane to Bali from $735, Melbourne to Bali from $655, Melbourne to Queenstown from $525 and Sydney to Fiji (Nadi) from $675, depending on travel dates.
Meanwhile, Flight Centre is also offering 50 per cent off holidays, cruises and tours as part of its Big Red Sale, which ends November 13.
Its most popular deals have been on the around the world airfares. From just $2859, travellers can get a five-stop round the world fare that includes Tokyo, Los Angeles, New York City, Frankfurt or Rome and Singapore.
Other deals on offer include 50 per cent off a seven-night luxury Japan ski trip from $615 per person.
