A popular soft drink mixer sold across the country at Coles, Woolworths and Dan Murphy’s is being urgently recalled.
Food Standards Australia issued the recall notice for the 540ml bottle of Salted Grapefruit by the Strangelove Beverage Company on Friday.
The product has been recalled due to “unintended fermentation” which resulted in increased carbonation in the drink, as well as the presence of alcohol.
The fermentation could also result in bottle breakage or the caps popping off.
“Consumption of this product may cause illness or injury,” the recall warning said.
The product has been available for sale at Woolworths across the country, as well as Dan Murphys in NSW, ACT, Queensland and Victoria.
It was also sold at Coles in Victoria and independent retailers across NSW, the ACT, Queensland, Victoria, South Australia and the Northern Territory.
The batch of concern has a best before date of 09/08/2025. No other batches are included in the recall.
Anyone who purchased the product is being urged to “safely dispose” of it, and send a proof of purchase directly to StrangeLove Beverage Company for a full refund.
“Alternatively, return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund,” the warning said.
“We apologise for any inconvenience.“
