Coles recalls Easter Plush toys, cites choking hazards

The retail giant has issued an urgent recall for some of its Easter toys, warning they pose a choking hazard to children.

Government unlikely to pass legislation to breakup supermarkets

Parents are being warned some Easter toys from Coles pose a choking hazard to their little ones, with an urgent recall now in place.

Coles recalled its Easter bunny Squeezer Pals and Easter Light Up chicken and bunny toys due to “faulty stitching” that could lead to young children gaining access to polyester filling, posing a choking hazard.

The products were sold between February 26 and March 20 at Coles supermarkets, Coles Local stores nationally and via Coles Online, the company said on Thursday.

The Squeezer Pals come in three colours – blue, grey and purple.

“Customers should ensure the toys are kept out of reach of children,” the company said.

“Customers are asked to return the product to any Coles supermarket or Coles Local store for a full refund.

“Coles Online customers can receive a full refund or credit by contacting Coles Online Customer Care.

“We apologise to our customers for any inconvenience.”
