Beauty salon expands due to rise in cosmetic tattooing popularity

One Toowoomba beautician knows better than most just how important it is to women to have perfect brows, with demand for her cosmetic eyebrow tattooing services going through the roof.

These days having good eyebrows is essential.

It’s evident in the fact there are now thousands of brow make-up products on the shelves, and many businesses based around giving you the perfect brows.

One Toowoomba beautician knows better than most, just how important it is to women, and demand for her cosmetic eyebrow tattooing services is going through the roof.

Ange Jarrett launched Lust Lash and Brow Bar as an at-home business 11 years ago, but it quickly expanded, and the business moved to its current premises on Prescott St.

Lust offers a range of services including full body waxing, tinting, lash lifts, eyebrow and eyeliner cosmetic tattooing, eyelash extensions, tanning, microdermabrasion and peels.

Five years ago Ms Jarrett added cosmetic tattooing to her list of services after she undertook training in Sydney with Middle Eastern company Phibrows.

“I started my microblading journey with them, and then went on to learn a couple of different techniques to create combo and ombre brows and eyeliner,” she said.

“This training took me to Sydney, Melbourne and Los Angeles.”

Cosmetic tattooing offered by Lust includes eyebrows for all different skin types with options for combo or ombre brows and microblading also known as feathering.

The different techniques all create natural brows that mimic real hair, and are shaped to each person’s face.

Lust also specialises in eyeliner tattooing and is looking to introduce lip blush tattooing.

Ms Jarrett said while she’d been offering these services for years, it was just recently that it had really taken off with the salon mostly booked months in advance.

She now just focuses on cosmetic tattooing and leaves the other services to her staff member Larissa Reborse.

“It has been an amazing service added to Lust because it has helped so many people, not just by looking amazing but by giving them so much confidence,” she said.

“The best thing about cosmetic tattooing is there is so much to learn.

“I do about three to four sets of brows a day, not including touch ups so it’s very popular and keeps me on my toes.”

Lust is now expanding, with the addition of another beauty room and Ms Jarrett is looking for another lash and beauty therapist.
