An Australia Post in the CBD is closing with the Toowoomba post office reopening at a new location.

Australia Post at 135 Margaret St will cease trading at 5pm Friday, March 5 and reopen on Monday, March 8 at Grand Central Shopping Centre.

It will reopen on the ground level near Kmart with seven 15-minute Australia Post parking bays.

Those customers with PO boxes in Margaret St will also have them relocated to the centre with no change to the PO Box number, address and key.

An Australia Post spokesman said the post office would continue to provide the same great range of postal products and services.

“The new location allows customers greater convenience and all-weather access as the post office will be located within the shopping centre,” he said.

“There will be seven dedicated Australia Post parking bays which customers can access via the Victoria Street entrance when visiting the Post Office.”

“We are also installing a new post office box lobby, to provide customers with safe and secure 24/7 access.”
