A Victorian mum and her eight-year-old young son were just metres away from home when they were killed in a horror smash.
Erin Wilson was turning into her driveway off the South Gippsland Highway at Korumburra when her car was struck from behind and pushed into the path of a truck on Friday afternoon.
The 33-year-old woman and her young son, Bane, died in the crash.
“You can’t contemplate this ever happening, especially a parent burying their own child and a grandson. It’s horrendous,” the woman’s twin brother Tristan told Seven News.
The riding instructor had just picked her son up from school in the lead-up to the crash.
On social media friends paid tribute to the pair.
“They were so beautiful and it was gorgeous to chat with [Ms Wilson] when I caught up with her earlier this year,” friend Izzy Kay said on Facebook.
The investigation into the crash remains ongoing and a 59-year-old man from Bass has been questioned and released pending further inquiries.
