The Duke of Edinburgh has returned home to Windsor Castle to continue his recovery from a heart operation.

In pleasing news for the Queen, who hasn’t seen her husband for a month because of the coronavirus restrictions preventing hospital visits, Prince Philip, 99, was discharged from King Edward VII’s Hospital overnight (AEDT).

But just as she was welcoming home her husband of 73 years, the Queen would have been dismayed to hear that Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle were continuing to hold a very public dialogue about their woes on the other side of the Atlantic.

This time, one of the Sussex’s media friends, Gayle King, revealed: “You know, she’s (Meghan’s) really a very sweet, caring person. And as I say, Meghan has documents to back up everything that she said on Oprah’s interview. Everything.”

This is the second friend of Meghan’s warning of written evidence, and comes after Ms King said Harry and spoken to Prince William and Prince Charles, but the conversation “wasn’t productive”.

She told her American viewers: “Harry has talked to his brother and he has talked to his father too. The word I was given was that those conversations were not productive. But they are glad that they have at least started a conversation.”

Ms King added: “And I think what is still upsetting to them is the palace keep saying they want to work it out privately, but yet, they believe these false stories are coming out that are very disparaging against Meghan, still.

“No one in the Royal family has talked to Meghan yet, at this particular time. And I think it’s frustrating for them to see that it’s a racial conversation about the Royal Family when all they wanted all along was for the royals to intervene and tell the Press to stop with the unfair, inaccurate, false stories that definitely have a racial slant.

“And until you can acknowledge that, I think it’s going to be hard to move forward. But they both want to move forward with this and they both want healing in this family. At the end of the day, that is Harry’s family.”

British people ‘don’t appreciate’ Harry and Meghan’s ‘badmouthing’

The Queen had clearly indicated that the issues that Harry and Meghan had raised in their Oprah Winfrey interview were to be addressed “privately” and noted that “recollections may vary”.

Courtiers are concerned that the Sussexes will continue to complain in the United States to remain in the public eye and believe the hurt that the couple has unleashed on the Royal Family may be irreparable.

However William is believed to want Harry to attend the unveiling of a statue in honour of their mother, Princess Diana, in London on what would have been her 60th birthday on July 1.
