Matilda’s star Sam Kerr fronts London court charged with alleged racial harassment
The Matildas captain will face a jury trial over allegations she harassed a police officer in London after a night out.
Matildas captain Sam Kerr will be required to attend a London court on February 3 to contest claims of racially aggravated harassment of a police officer.
Ms Kerr, 31, attended a hearing in person at Kingston Crown Court on Tuesday in relation to an incident, which allegedly occurred in Twickenham two years ago.
The court has previously heard Ms Kerr was returning home in a taxi following a night out with her fiancee, Kristie Mewis, on January 30, 2023.
A judge at Kingston Crown court confirmed the trial would take place, before a jury, in early February.
Ms Kerr, who is still recovering from knee surgery after suffering an ACL injury 12 months ago, appeared in court with her lawyer, Grace Forbes, wearing a long black coat.
She left the court flanked by her legal team and a security officer without responding to any questions from the waiting media pack.
Ms Kerr has denied the charges.
