A new Trump is gaining the attention of the world’s media, with Donald Trump’s 17-year-old granddaughter Kai taking central stage among the president-elect’s inner circle.

In the days since her grandfather won the US presidential election, Kai has posted a series of videos to her YouTube channel, including a behind-the-scenes look at the election night victory at Mar-a-Lago and a video announcing herself as a golf influencer.

Kai Madison Trump is the daughter of Donald Trump Jr and his former wife, Vanessa, and one of Donald Trump’s ten grandchildren. She has been able to provide a unique insider’s perspective of the President-elect as a family man who enjoys a close relationship with his grandkids and takes pride in their achievements.

Inspired by her grandfather, Kai says that he is a strong role model and wants to “be like him and fight like him.”

So far, Kai has acquired about 190,000 subscribers on YouTube which include several videos of herself posted in the last few weeks playing golf - a sport at which she excels - including at sunset and spending time with friends.

She has also posted a video containing a snapshot of a regular day in her life where she buys coffee, wonders which dress she will wear to homecoming - (it had a Great Gatsby theme) - works out at the gym, buys the groceries, cooks up a meal, practices her form at the driving range and goes shopping at the mall.

Kai was born on May 7 2007 and is Mr Trump’s eldest granddaughter. She caused a sensation when she was introduced in July to the stage at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee by her father and described her grandfather as a “normal grandpa.”

“He gives us candy and soda when our parents aren’t looking. He always wants to know how we are doing at school. When I made the high honour roll, he printed it out to show his friends how proud he was of me,” she said.

She also told how her grandfather “tries to get in my head” when they play golf together.

“When we play golf together, if I’m not on his team, he’ll try to get inside of my head, and he’s always surprised I don’t let him get to me. But I have to remind him, I’m a Trump, too,” she said.

In her election night video as she is driving to Mar-a-Lago, Kai explains that she hasn’t seen her “grandpa in a while because he’s been campaigning” but reveals he had been “calling me almost every other day.”

“I am very nervous,” she said. “I feel like I’ve had butterflies in my stomach for so long ... Hopefully he wins, brings it home. I think he’s going to do amazing for this country. He works so hard. I don’t know anyone who is more hardworking and driven than he is.”

When she arrives, members of the Trump family - including the former president - and his election team are watching the results come in on four big TV screens in a glitzy room with murals on the walls and decorated with American flags.

A Trump family portrait is also captured in the video, with Elon Musk joining in after being invited by Mr Trump himself.

“We have to get Elon with his boy,” Mr Trump says. “Gorgeous, perfect boy.”

A couple of days ago, Kai posted a series of pictures to her Instagram with her grandfather at the golf course, with the President-elect wearing a white MAGA hat. But she also included a shot with the world’s richest man.

Kai captioned the image: “Elon achieving uncle status.”

As the results rolled-in on election night, Kai is featured in her vlog entry cheering on her grandfather at the convention centre. “He’s up. He’s winning ... I think we got it in the bag,” she says.

After the election night celebrations, Kai filmed another clip sitting her car saying that her grandfather deserved to win “more than anyone in the whole entire world.”

“He’s such an incredible person and such a unique person. And he just fights every single day for America. Over and over and over again,” she said. “I just finished playing 18 holes with him. It was his first time playing in probably 90 days or more. It was just so nice to spend that time with him.”

“He really just doesn’t take any breaks, doesn’t do anything really besides just work. And it’s just like truly motivating to see that every single day and have that as a role model because when I grow up I want to be like him and just fight like him and don’t take any days off and just keep on working and work my butt off, just like how he does.”

“The election night was really special for our whole family,” she said. “We fought until the very end. And yes, it’s his last time running. So it’s so special for him win.”

Kai said that, after Mr Trump won Pennsylvania, she started tearing up and was looking forward to seeing what her grandfather would do next.
