Grey Goose Northern Lights: Road Test
This limited-edition bottle of the famous French vodka Grey Goose, released for Christmas, ‘pays homage to one of nature’s most awe-inspiring spectacles’.
WHAT IS IT? A limited-edition bottle of the famous French vodka Grey Goose, released for Christmas, that “pays homage to one of nature’s most awe-inspiring spectacles – the Northern Lights”.
HOW DOES IT DO THAT? The flying geese motifs that traditionally adorn the bottle are here picked out in holographic foil, and there’s an LED in the base. Flick on the LED and the whole bottle glows and shimmers like the Northern Lights.
BUT THIS IS AUSTRALIA. Well look, I’ll turn the bottle upside down then. Ta-daaa! See, it’s now the Southern Lights.
HOLD ON, I HAVEN’T PUT THE CAP BACK ON! Oh, you MUPPET – now there’s vodka all over the sofa!!
DON’T YELL AT ME, THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE THE SEASON OF GOODWILL TO ALL MEN. I’m sorry. But what a waste. And this is a premium vodka, distilled from French wheat grown in Picardy in northern France and artesian spring water from Gensac-la-Pallue in the Cognac region.
LET’S SUCK THE CUSHIONS DRY. Good idea – ever so Frenchy and chic. Chin chin!
