Zachary Rolfe on the night he shot Kumanjayi Walker

On March 11, Zachary Rolfe was found not guilty of all charges over the shooting death of Kumanjayi Walker in Yuendumu in 2019.

In an exclusive interview with The Australian's Kristin Shorten in 2019, Rolfe revealed what happened the night he fatally shot the 19-year-old Warlpiri man.

The Alice Springs Constable, then 28, was one of four Immediate Response Team members sent to Yuendumu to arrest Walker on four charges. As the arrest turned violent, Rolfe noticed the offender was holding a weapon.

During the arrest, Walker struck policeman Adam Eberl with the blade in the chest and the neck area. That's when Rolfe fired his Glock three times.

Rolfe faced charges of murder, manslaughter and causing death, to which he pleaded not guilty. He was found not guilty on all charges on March 11.

 Rolfe fatally shoots Walker after executing an arrest warrant on four charges.

Rolfe was charged with Walker's murder.

Rolfe's trial begins in Darwin.

Rolfe found not guilty on all charges.
