Shandee's Story: Toxic Love
When John Peros' girlfriend was murdered, police came knocking.
They sought a search warrant to find out what Peros had been telling his doctor, psychologist and psychiatrists.
Shandee Blackburn died after being attacked with a knife while walking home from a night shift.
The 23-year-old was stabbed more than 20 times and left for dead alongside the gutter of Boddington Street, Mackay, on February 9, 2013.
Detectives soon discovered John and Shandee's relationship had a dark side, full of jealousy and paranoia.
A jury acquitted John of murdering Shandee — but the story doesn't end there.
