Rodgers under fire OVER ‘dangerous’ Covid comments

Green Bay Packers star Aaron Rodgers has come under fire for his first public comments since testing positive to Covid-19.

The 37-year-old claimed during the pre-season he was immunised, but was receiving homeopathic treatment from his personal doctor, in breach of several of the NFL’s Covid-19 protocols.

During an appearance on ‘The Pat McAfe Show’, Rodgers claimed an NFL doctor said something clearly wrong about the vaccines.

I had a meeting and one of the main docs said ‘It’s impossible for a vaccinated person to get COVID or spread COVID’. At that point, I knew that I was definitely not going to win the appeal and it was very shortly thereafter that denied. Which we know now that information is totally false.

The NFL responded to his claim just hours later, telling Pro Football Talk that no league doctor had communicated with Rodgers.

Critics slammed Rodgers after the appearance. The Washington Post’s Jerry Brewer called out Rodgers for only caring about himself, describing him as a “superstar in love with himself”.

ESPN’s Mina Kimes was also critical of Rodgers’ comments, accusing him of “using his platform in a way that’s not only self serving in this instance but frankly dangerous”.

It is his body and choice but a choice that affects other people — not just his football team, but other humans, because this is a contagious illness. Far few people seem to understand that still and for him to perpetuate that just shows us that he doesn’t care.
