It was one sartorial showstopper after another from Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, as she celebrated the occasion of Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee.
Not, of course, that we were expecting anything less.
The designers the Duchess of Cambridge relied on to dress and pay tribute to The Queen’s 70 years on the throne? The very names that have become synonymous with Kate’s taste.
She began with an old favourite, a white coat dress by Alexander McQueen, accessorised with a navy Philip Treacy hat, and sapphire-and-diamond earrings inherited from Princess Diana.
Attending a National Service of Thanksgiving, Kate wore a sleek lemon-coloured Emilia Wickstead dress.
She paired it with a matching Philip Treacy saucer hat with silk roses underneath the brim, along with a pair of The Queen’s Bahrain pearl earrings.
It was back to recycling ensembles for Kate on a Platinum Jubilee engagement in Wales, with the duchess choosing to rewear a poppy red coat dress from Eponine, last seen in 2021.
An appearance in the royal box for a Platinum Jubilee concert had Kate wear a white suit set by Self-Portrait: a belted, tweed blazer worn over a pleated, lace-trimmed skirt, with side-swept curls for a retro effect.
Two elegant dresses concluded the duchess’s stylish weekend: the first, a raspberry pink Stella McCartney dress, ruched on the bodice and bishop-sleeved.
The second, a blue polka dot midi from Alessandra Rich for a Jubilee lunch.
