The Peninsula New York installs domes at Salon de Ning rooftop bar
It’s an igloo with view at this classy midtown Manhattan establishment.
Take in views of Christmas lights across midtown Manhattan from this cosy and classy perch on the 23rd floor of The Peninsula Hotel. The west terrace of its Salon de Ning rooftop bar, regarded as one of the best in New York City, features two heated chalet-inspired domes until April next year.
Called Chalet de Ning, the interiors have the ambience of a cosy log cabin, with plush sofas, over-sized armchairs, plaid blankets, ottomans, faux-fur throws and a freestanding fireplace. Once snug, guests can tuck into a crafted seasonal menu and finish off with the signature “Gluhwein from Madam Ning” cocktail, a warming mix of malbec, juniper, Grand Marnier, cinnamon and cloves.
It’s a touch of the Swiss Alps, looking down on the bustle of Fifth Avenue.
