One of the world’s most luxurious international hotel chains has set its grand opening day for its newest Australian offering.
On June 23 The Langham Hospitality Group will be unveiling its newest Australian luxury resort hotel on the Gold Coast in Queensland. Situated between Surfers Paradise and Broadbeach in the tallest of the three Jewel towers, The Langham, Gold Coast and Jewel Residences will become the first development with direct beachfront access to be built in the area in more than 30 years.
Known for its grandeur and opulence, The Langham Gold Coast’s fresh take on the hotel group’s signature style is celebrated in its 339 rooms, which have been fitted-out with a modern-coastal palette. Seventeen different types of rooms and suites will be available to stay in, all of which boast breathtaking ocean views.
The Langham’s regional vice president of operations in the Pacific & South East Asia Jeffrey van Vorsselen said the hotel will give Australian and international travellers a new luxury resort experience “through The Langham lens.”
“Opening our first beachfront property in one of the world’s most desirable travel destinations is an incredible milestone,” he said.
Guests of the resort will enjoy a suite of indulgent amenities and services, including a 20-metre-long outdoor pool featuring a sandy lagoon-style entrance and a fully serviced swim-up pool bar for refreshments, and a range of delectable food and beverage offerings, including savouries and pastries created by our in-house pastry chefs from Palm Court, which is home to the world’s first afternoon tea in a Grand Hotel with Langham Afternoon Tea. Other venues include T’ang Court, which specialises in Michelin star Cantonese cuisine, and Coral Moon, which takes an innovative approach to cocktails, featuring a selection of Asian spirits and cocktails infused with Australian herbs and botanicals grown on-site, and pairs them with signature dishes of crispy pork belly mantou, and jasmine tea-smoked Wagyu beef ribs.
Wellness will also be a key feature in guest itineraries with the inclusion of Chuan Spa, which will give guests the chance to experience the centuries-old healing techniques of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Personalised treatments include full body scrubs, express facials and Chuan spiritual and physical harmony massages based upon the ancient principles of Yin and Yang.
When it first opened its doors in London in 1865, The Langham debuted its penchant for cutting-edge conveniences: running hot water, electric lights and England’s first hydraulic lifts, or “rising rooms”. A century and a half later, on the other side of the world, the brand still offers the best of modern comforts in its expanding portfolio of Australian resorts.
“The Langham has built an unmatched, global reputation for timeless elegance and a true five-star experience,” says John O’Shea, the general manager of The Langham, Gold Coast.
“We are beyond thrilled to soon bring this legendary legacy to life in the heart of the Gold Coast with local Australian characteristics.”
The Langham, Gold Coast joins two other hotels in Sydney and Melbourne, and is what Destination Gold Coast ceo Patricia O’Callaghan refers to as “latest jewel in the burgeoning crown” of the city’s luxury offering.
“The Langham is a globally recognised tourism brand that will elevate the luxury offering of our destination,” O’Callaghan said.
“The brand new hotel will offer visitors a sophisticated, five-star resort experience with sincere service, elegant design and jaw dropping views across the Pacific Ocean and Gold Coast Hinterland.”
