Burns Night takes place on Monday, celebrating the life of scalliwag Scottish poet Robert Burns with verse, whisky and haggis.

The dish is traditionally praised for having an “honest, sonsie (chubby) face”, which seems a strange description for an oversized sausage. It could perhaps be better used to describe the photogenic Highland cows that dot Scotland’s countryside.

In a bid to raise the spirits of overseas travellers unable to see the “coos” themselves, Visit Scotland has been recording footage of the hairy beasts and posting it online. Throughout 2021, Coo Cam will continue to snap the cattle in action against spectacular Scottish backdrops.
