The second Prints for Wildlife campaign kicked off this week, aiming to raise $US1m ($1.34m) for African Parks, a non-profit organisation that manages more than 19 reserves across 11 countries, totalling 14.7 million hectares. Limited-edition prints of African wildlife by 170 acclaimed photographers are for sale at $US100 a pop until August 11.
All proceeds (after printing and handling) help fund employment of rangers and education and healthcare for African communities struggling through the tourism downturn caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. Last year’s inaugural campaign raised $US660,200 in just 30 days.
