FOR more than 25 years Adrian Di Marco has been building Brisbane-based company TechnologyOne into one of Australia's most successful software developers.

The company has reported nine consecutive years of record revenues and profits, with its results for the 12 months to September 30, 2012, showing net profit climbing 16 per cent to $23.6m on revenue of $169m.

Di Marco has been a strong supporter of the local software industry and advocate of the need for government to do more to support it. He has spoken out regarding the tax treatment of foreign multinationals and their ability to book revenue in more favourable taxation markets, which he sees as part of a larger debate on the value that multinationals bring to Australia.

TechnologyOne pumped $33m into local research and development last year, much of it in support of retooling the software suite to run as a cloud-based solution comprising 500 enterprise software "apps".
