The first trailer for The Idol, starring Lily-Rose Depp, Troye Sivan, and The Weeknd, is here.

After what feels like an aeon of teasing, we have our first taste of The Idol, the new HBO series from the "sick and twisted minds" of The Weeknd and Euphoria director Sam Levinson.

The Idol promises "the sleaziest love story in all of Hollywood," set against the backdrop of the depraved music Industry. Lily Rose-Depp plays an up-and-coming pop idol, seduced by a seedy Los Angeles club owner, self-help guru, and cult leader (played by The Weeknd).

It looks to be typical Levinson fare, heavy doses of young hot people taking part in hedonistic rituals: drugs, sex, over-imbibing, flashy cinematography, thick with style.

“More, more, more, orgy!” yells a voice in the trailer.

In addition to The Weeknd and Depp, the cast also includes Troye Sivan, TV on the Radio’s Tunde Adebimpe, Blackpink’s Jennie, Anne Heche, Melanie Liburd, Steve Zissis, Elizabeth Berkley Lauren, Hari Nef, and Nico Hiraga.

An official release date has not been announced, but the teaser trailer says it’s “coming soon”. Watch the trailer below.
