Meghan Markle has revealed her husband struggled to help with her British citizenship exam | TAKE THE TEST

Meghan Markle says the UK citizenship test was so hard even Prince Harry himself could not answer some of the questions.

While the Duke and Duchess of Sussex now live in California, Meghan began studying for the exam back in 2017 when the pair got engaged and they were still living in Britain, with the intention of applying for indefinite leave to remain and then citizenship.

Among the requirements is a 45-minute written test of 24 multiple choice questions about British traditions and customs. Applicants must get 75% correct in order to pass.

Speaking on her podcast Archetypes, Meghan said: “That citizenship exam is so hard. I was studying for it and I remember going: ‘Oh my goodness.’ I would ask my husband: ‘Did you know this? Did you know this?’ And he went: ‘Huh? I had no idea.’”

The duchess abandoned her bid to become a UK citizen after the couple left the country in March 2020, as the rules dictate she must not have left Britain for more than 270 days in the three years before applying for citizenship.

In the new episode titled Good Wife/Bad Wife, Good Mom/Bad Mom, Meghan speaks to the actor Pamela Adlon, who has an English mother, and discusses being a parent and partner in modern life.

Revealing the details of her morning routine, Meghan said: “The morning rush – I’m sure it’ll only get more chaotic as they get older. But for me it’s, you know, both monitors on, for the kids, to hear them, always up with Lili, get her downstairs, then a half hour later Archie’s up.

“Start doing his lunch box right before he’s up, while I have her; getting her a little nibble. My husband’s helping me get him downstairs.

“I make breakfast for all three of them. It’s very important to me. I love doing it. To me it feels like the greatest way to start the morning. And then it’s like, feed all three of the dogs, because we just got another dog, and then get Archie out of the door to school. It feels like a whirlwind.”

Asked by Adlon whether Harry was a “good contributor”, Meghan said he was “great”.

Other guests in the episode include Sophie Trudeau, the wife of the Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau, and the comedian Sam Jay.
