With the highly-addictive second season of Mike White's The White Lotus coming to a close on Monday, keen viewers are dying to pick up on any hint of what the third season will look like. 

It has been confirmed that everyone's favourite five star resort will be returning for another season, but the details of the who, what, when and where are few and far between. 

Luckily, we've pieced together all the information we have so far.

Who will be in the third season of The White Lotus? 

Season 2 saw a nearly entirely new cast featuring the debuts of Meghann Fahy (Daphne), Michael Imperioli (Dominic), Aubrey Plaza (Harper), ​​Theo James (Cameron), Will Sharpe (Ethan), Haley Lu Richardson (Portia), Adam DiMarco (Albie) and Beatrice Grannò (Mia).

As fans will know, only two of the original characters returned for the second season: Jennifer Coolidge (Tanya) and her husband Jon Gries (Greg). 

Rumours swirled early in the season that Coolidge would feature again in Season 3, but those who have seen the Season 2 finale will know that is unlikely. However, in Unpacking Episode 7, White hinted that Gries could be in the third season.

"(With) the conspiracy of Tanya's death, it's possible that Portia is scared enough to leave it alone," he said. "But the fact that all of those guys die on the boat, it feels like there's got to be someone who tracks it all down to Greg. But maybe you'll have to wait to find out what happens."

When will the third season of The White Lotus air?

The arrival date of a fresh new season is yet to be announced, with White claiming to have only finished editing the second season 10 days ago.

“I need to reboot a little bit,” White told Katie Couric on her podcast. “I don’t have a lot of gas in the tank. So I need to figure out how to unplug and refresh or something.”

Where will The White Lotus Season 3 be set?

White shared some thoughts for where the series could be set while speaking to Deadline at the Season 2 premiere. Good news: It will likely be on a brand new continent.

"I think it’d be fun to maybe go to a whole different continent," he said. "You know, we did Europe, and maybe Asia, something crazy like that, that would be fun."

He also mentioned Japan in an interview with Vulture, saying it was a possible location for Season 2 before he decided on Sicily.
