They are the young NSW rugby players with the most powerful motivation possible ahead of their battle with the Queensland Reds in Sydney today - proving a point.

The coach of the Waratahs under 18s White side believes a number of his players have what it takes to force their way into the Australian 18 and under side to face New Zealand in an upcoming Test series.

The Waratahs Academy White team will play prior to the Waratahs Blue v Queensland Reds U18s main match at Forshaw Park Park on Tuesday.

Coach by Angus Sinclair, the Waratahs White side will also be closely monitored by Australian selectors watching both matches before naming their squad for a camp in Canberra and then Tests against their New Zealand opposites.

“There's plenty on the line here and they are highly motivated to get into the 18s team,’’ said Sinclair, head of rugby at Shore.

“To be honest there’s not that much difference between players across both squads.

“We didn;t play as well as we wanted ed to last time either and they know that.’’

Sinclair will look to nervous players to perform in the match to be played in high heat at Forshaw Park on Tuesday.

“We have rally dynamic backrow. Beau Morrison at eight was one of the standout performers last time, then there's Marshal Le Maitre at seven and Jon Ryan at six.

“They are fit, fast and very good rugby players.’’
