Drinking and partying are catching up with Nick Kyrgios who is adamant he will turn his back on tennis sooner rather than later.

Nick Kyrgios has said there is “not f***ing chance” he will be playing tennis for another five years in another hint that the Aussie star is considering early retirement from tennis.

The 28-year-old, who is no stranger to talking about when he plans to call time on his career, said demands of the tour as well as his own lifestyle choices would ultimately force him out.

Speaking at the Ultimate Tennis Show in Los Angeles alongside other big names of the sport, Kyrgios said he had no plans to play an extended career like Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer and others when it was suggested that he has at least five competitive years left in him.

“No f*cking chance. No way. Bro, there’s no chance I’m playing until 33,” he said.

“Kyrgios playing until 33 is insane! I’m not playing until 33.

“Nah, I promise you, when I’m gone, you’ll never see me again.”

Kyrgios, who has played just one official match in 2023 owing to a string of unfortunate injuries and surgery, said his body had aged.

“The schedule is out of control. I’m getting old. I’m getting old,” he laughed. “28. Yeah. But all the drinking and partying, I’m like 57.”

It’s not the first time Kyrgios has pledged to retire from the sport.

Earlier this year he said he would call time on the spot if he ever won a grand slam title and seemed to lament the missed opportunity to have walked away when he lost the 2022 Wimbledon final to Djokovic.

It was the closest he’d ever come to a singles slam title and his first time in a slam final.

Kyrgios won the first set against Djokovic at the All England Club, before going down 4-6 6-3 6-4 7-6.

“That was my chance (to win a major),” Kyrgios said at the time. “That was really my chance.

“If I’d honestly won (against Djokovic), I think I would have retired at least for a year or two.”

Revelations about his future plans come just days after Kyrgios posted images of himself getting a full back tattoo in California.

The artwork features Pokemon characters Blastoise, Gyarados, Mewtwo and Snorlax.

“Five artists at once at one of the best studios in the world,” Kyrgios posted to his story on Tuesday.

“Wish me luck, back is getting completely covered.

“Original design was created from my brother (Alexi Bouras),” he said. “Dude’s a king and for anyone needing work done in Australia, he is your guy.”
