There were 125 reasons Easts wanted to beat Randwick while West Harbour just had one - putting their first points on the board in the Sydney Rugby Union 1st Colts competitions and both achieved their objective.
The battle between two of the oldest rugby rivals in the country went the way of the defending champions Eastern Suburbs while the Pirates scored an uplifting and moral boosting win over the Two Blues in the battle of the west.
But there was also big news from the camps of the competition leaders.
After four rollercoaster rounds of Sydney Colts the Manly Marlins have shot to the top of the leaders board for the first time ahead of Gordon, the only other team with a perfect record.
But the Highlanders have paid an early price for their form with a second athlete in a week sidelined with a break.
Alongside a number of upsets already this season, another indication of the closeness of the competition is the fact eight players from an assortment of clubs have now scored five tries each in the opening rounds.
Kami Tuqalo, Nick Swain, Hamish MacDonald, Sevuloni Satala, Charlie Foster, Oliver McCracken, Max Roach and Louis Fenwick all sit equal on the try scoring tally with five.
Round four was also memorable for the rebuilding West Harbour Colts program breaking through for their first win of the season.
And winger Satala was the star of the show and the only player in round four two score three tries.
