Each Wallaby rated after Australia’s epic 16-16 draw against the All Blacks in Wellington.

15. Tom Banks – Largely anonymous in the first half but got involved in the latter stages without breaking the shackles. Still early days in his career. 6

14. Filipo Daugunu – Two of his first three touches were line breaks. A constant threat on the right flank. Scored a try on a fantastic debut. 8

13. Hunter Paisami – Had few chances but made an impact whenever he got involved. Worth persevering with. 7

12. Matt Toomua – Lacked a bit zip and pinpoint accuracy. Solid but the Wallabies need a bit more against this class of opponent. 6

11. Marika Koroibete – Starved of possession but when finally given a chance in open space scored the first try for the Wallabies. 6

10. James O’Connor – Has always been picked at 10 on what is possible but what we got was the probable. So much better when he runs the ball. 6

9. Nic White – Grew as the game went on. His box kicks and sniping from the ruck proved dangerous for the All Blacks. The Wallabies’ best. 9

8. Pete Samu – Part of an industrious backrow that toiled away without ever dominating. 6

7. Michael Hooper – Fought hard, did the dirty work and had some good moments but struggled to impose himself. 6

6. Harry Wilson – His red headgear was a beacon in the Wellington gloom. A brilliant start and full of running until replaced with 15 minutes to go. 7

5. Matt Philip – The go-to man in the lineout where he mostly held his own. Rolled up his sleeves with some hard carries. 7

4. Lukhan Salakaia-Loto – Never shirked the task with ball in hand or in defence. Can play lock but should start in the backrow. 6

3. Taniela Tupou – Tongan Thor got out the hammer out early in both defence and attack. His impact waned as the match went on. 6

2. Folau Fainga’a – Arrested a poor start with his lineout throwing but the Wallabies need much more from the No 2 jersey. 4

1. James Slipper – This Test was a microcosm of his 10-year Wallaby career. A quiet achiever. 6

16. Jordan Uelese – Came on with 20 minutes to go and the transition was seamless. 6

17. Scott Sio – The Wallabies set piece did not suffer with his arrival in the 60th minute. 6

18. Allan Alaalatoa – More than a handy bench player. Did everything asked of him when he came on. 6

19. Rob Simmons – Gave away the penalty that levelled the scores in the 78th minute. Did not get the chance to atone for his mistake. No rating

20. Rob Valetini – Given six minutes to make an impact. He didn’t. No rating

21. Jake Gordon – Kept his cool under immense pressure in the final 10 minutes. No rating

22. Noah Lolesio – The Brumbies playmaker will have to wait another week for his debut. No rating

23. Reece Hodge – Came on with a minute to go yet got to play for 10, it was that sort of game. His booming kick nearly won it for the Wallabies. No rating
