Our Aussie athletes ensured medals were coming with a rush on the penultimate day of the Paralympic Games in Paris.
Here’s what you might have missed.
A MEDAL BLITZ ON THE WATER
Australia won gold, silver and bronze in para-canoe in a 45-minute medal blitz.
Curtis McGrath won gold in his kayak singles event for the third time in a row.
Dylan Littlehales, also competing in kayak, won silver in his category.
And Susan Seipel won bronze in the women’s Va’a.
“It’s as good as gold for me. I knew it was going to be a really close race. I was happy with it,” Seipel said.
TURNER DOES THE DOUBLE
James Turner has finished his campaign with two gold medals after taking out the men’s 100m T36 race.
It’s an improvement on the silver medal he won in the same race in Tokyo.
Turner also won the 400m earlier in the Games.
AUSSIES RETURN TO JUDO AND POWERLIFTING
There were special moments in judo and powerlifting as Australia made returns to the sports in Paris.
Taylor Gosens became just the second female judoka in the country’s history and was involved in two fights.
Ben Wright marked Australia’s return to powerlifting for the first time since London 2012 with teammate Hani Watson to compete on the final day.
MORE TABLE TENNIS MEDALS
Australia’s table tennis campaign came to an end and there were more medals won.
Le Lina and Ma Lin both came away with bronze after losing their respective semi-finals.
No bronze medal match is played.
