Celebrities have flocked to Paris for the Olympics including Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise
PARIS CONFIDENTIAL: Some of the world’s biggest celebrities have flocked to Paris for the Olympics with a who’s who in the stands to watch a US star compete.
Australian power couple Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban were spotted with daughters Sunday Rose and Faith getting into the patriotic spirit — albeit via a Mexican wave — while taking in the women’s street final on Sunday.
Australia’s youngest Olympic competitor, Chloe Covell, was a medal fancy but the 14 year-old ranked sixth in the world failed to reach the podium in the skateboarding which debuted as an Olympic sport.
She lost no fans though, particularly with actor Kidman and singer Urban, who sat casually amongst the enthusiastic crowd and revelled in the high energy atmosphere.
Kidman showed her true colours when she cheered on the Matildas in their opening match in Marseilles. She is also making an appearance at the luxury Omega House this week, which has also hosted Cindy Crawford and her daughter Kaia Gerber.
It wouldn’t surprise if Kidman and Urban turned up poolside to cheer on the Aussies.
Elsewhere American actor Tom Cruise was spotted in the crowd on the first blockbuster night of swimming and he backed up on day two.
In a parade of celebrites enjoying the biggest event on Earth, Cruise was seen on Sunday attending the artistic gymnastics with Warner Bros boss David Zaslav.
Earlier at the pool, Cruise was seen in prime position with Snoop Dogg, Spike Lee and other notable guests.
Filming another Mission Impossible instalment, Cruise took time out to cheer Team USA, on his feet, fist pumping and singing the US national anthem after the men won the 4x100m freestyle relay.
He watched the opening ceremony on the Seine on Friday night, along with actor couple Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick, and rocker Mick Jagger.
Just hours before the big event, Cruise received one of France’s most prestigious decorations, the Knight of the Legion of Honor by France’s culture minister.
Also spotted supporting US gynmastics star Simone Biles were Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande, John Legend and wife Chrissy Teigen, Baz Luhrmann and Anna Wintour, Nick Jonas, Shaun White and Nina Dobrev, Greta Gerwig, Jill Biden, Snoop Dogg and Jessica Chastain.
