Manly superstar Tom Trbojevic passed a crucial fitness test on Saturday morning and will line up for the Sea Eagles in their clash against the Titans on Friday night.

The good news for the Sea Eagles comes as it emerged that St George Illawarra forward Raymond Faitala-Mariner was taken to hospital on Friday night after he struggled to breath because of an asthma attack.

Faitala-Mariner was released late on Friday night to re-join his Dragons teammates in Brisbane following their horror 56-6 loss to the Dolphins. He was cleared of any serious health threat while winger Christian Tuipulotu is facing a stint on the sideline because of another hamstring injury.

Tuipulotu failed to finish the game on Friday night in what was his return from a seven week because of another hamstring injury to his other leg.

The Dragons are privately hopeful that this was not a significant strain with the injury not going to sideline him long-term.

While the news was mixed for the Dragons, the Sea Eagles received a much-needed boost after another inconsistent showing during a loss to Newcastle on Thursday night. Trbojevic underwent a key session at Brookvale on Saturday morning which he needed to get through to be any chance to play against his former coach Des Hasler’s Gold Coast side.

It is understood that unless something unexpected occurs he will be right to play after training well.

Trbojevic has once again been hampered by a string of injuries in recent weeks with a corked thigh the latest complaint which has led to him missing the past two games and contributed to him being overlooked for State of Origin.

Trbojevic will slot back into his no.1 jersey after his fill-in Lehi Hopoate failed to finish the match against the Knights because of a concussion.
