The NRL is set to ban three fans after they were charged by police following a wild brawl on Saturday night.

Police have already charged three people for the brawl which involved up to 10 fans on the hill at Shark Park during Cronulla’s finals win against the Roosters.

Now they face further sanctions with the NRL looking to ban the brawlers.

“The NRL has issued a notice of intention to ban for an indefinite period to three patrons under the NRL Spectator Code of Conduct following a crowd incident at Sharks Stadium on Saturday night,” an NRL spokesman said.

“Supporters are reminded that anyone found breaching the required standards can expect to be subject to significant sanctions.”

Two 20-year-old men and a 27-year-old man attended Sutherland Police Station on Monday morning and were charged with affray.

Dramatic footage obtained by this masthead captured the moment police allege the men assaulted each other. However, no serious injuries were reported in relation to the incident.

They have all been granted conditional bail to appear at Sutherland Local Court on October 2, just three days before the NRL grand final.

Additionally, all three men have been issued banning notices, prohibiting them from attending NRL venues.

The incident took place as the NRL prepares for a huge weekend on the second week of the finals, with upwards of 50,000 people expected to descend on Accor Stadium as the Bulldogs host four-time premiers Penrith.

Both the NRL and the premier Chris Minns urged supporters to show respect when attending rugby league games and warned the police would have no hesitation handing out lifetime bans for bad behaviour.

“I just implore people to respect the fact that a lot of people take their kids to the football,” Minns said.

“They go there with their families, they expect to have a safe and fun and enjoyable time.”

Police have urged anyone with mobile phone footage or information to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
