Sunday Sesh: NRL’s mammoth four-day Las Vegas launch week itinerary revealed
Eight teams, three countries, one city. Six weeks before round one, the NRL’s jam-packed four-day schedule leading into their second foray in the United States can be revealed by Sunday Sesh.
A massive fan fest featuring eight rugby league teams from three countries on Fremont Street will be the centrepiece of a bigger and bolder Las Vegas launch week.
This masthead can reveal the NRL’s four-day extravaganza leading up to their second season-opening double-header in the United States.
The festivities kick off with an officially Fox launch on the Wednesday, and then followed by a Fan Fest on Fremont Street on the Thursday with all eight teams making an appearance.
A Nines tournament, NRL combine, and USA-Greece exhibition make up season-opening eve before the Combine continues at the UFC Performance Institute on game day.
“Las Vegas 2025 will be jam-packed full of activity for fans,” NRL CEO Andrew Abdo said.
“The amazing Fan Fest at the iconic Fremont Street experience to the inclusion of the UK Super League, a Women’s Test, and of course the NRL season openers combine for an unforgettable rugby league experience for fans.
“We will also have Test matches featuring Greece and USA and the NRL Combine will be across two days with football simulations and testing for aspiring US athletes.
“The anticipation and excitement is building for Las Vegas 2025, which will be bigger and bolder than ever.”
Meanwhile, Fox League star Yvonne Sampson lent her voice to help educate the US audience on rugby league ahead of an advertising blitz before the Las Vegas season proper.
Last year’s explainer was voiced by Russell Crowe. Now it’s Sampson who will be beamed into homes in the US in the lead-up to the Last Vegas matches on March 1 .
The NRL will begin the rollout of the explainer, which is designed for the American audiences, through the Fox Sports US digital and social channels.
It follows NFL superstar Rob Gronkowski voicing the official NRL ad for the Las Vegas matches.
