The ARL commission has confirmed that Racing NSW chief executive Peter V’landys will take over as chairman on October 30.

V’landys was elected unanimously to take over from Peter Beattie, who has already declared his plan to step down.

The commission released a statement confirming Beattie would remain on the commission to assist with the transition and pending the appointment of other commissioners.

Beattie and fellow commissioners extended their congratulations to V’landys on his appointment.

Peter V’landys looks forward to taking on the role of chairman.

“In the meantime, there is a lot of exciting football to take place as we head into the finals series and we look forward to concentrating on that” V’landys said.
